PAYMENTS POLICY

1) Accepted payment methods (cards only)

At present we accept the following credit/debit cards only:

• Visa (Credit/Debit)
• Mastercard (Credit/Debit)

Other methods (e.g., bank transfer, cash on delivery, Buy-Now-Pay-Later, crypto) are not supported right now.
Available methods may change in the future without prior notice.

2) Currency, pricing & VAT

• All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. VAT No.: [VAT_NUMBER_IF_APPLICABLE].
• If your card is not in GBP, your issuer may apply its own exchange rate and fees. Any non-GBP prices shown are for convenience only.
• For orders delivered outside the UK, local taxes, duties and import fees may be charged by your customs authority or carrier; unless stated otherwise on the checkout page, these are not included in our website prices.
• We aim for price accuracy; however, if an obvious pricing error occurs we may cancel the order and issue a full refund (see our Terms).

3) Authorisation, capture & when you are charged

• At checkout, our gateway may place a temporary authorisation on your card to verify funds.
• We generally capture payment once your order is confirmed and preparing for dispatch. For split shipments we may capture amounts proportionately.
• If authorisation cannot be obtained (or is later declined), we will let you know and may hold or cancel the order.

4) Security & compliance

• Payments are processed by our PCI DSS–compliant gateway [PAYMENT_PROCESSOR].
• We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes on our servers; all transmission is protected with TLS encryption.
• Your bank may require Strong Customer Authentication (SCA/3-D Secure); please complete any prompts to avoid delays.

5) Billing details & checks

• Please provide accurate billing name, address and contact details. We may use Address Verification (AVS) and similar checks to help prevent fraud.
• We may decline/cancel orders or request additional verification (e.g., proof of identity/address) where fraud is suspected.
• Your card statement descriptor will appear as [BILLING_DESCRIPTOR e.g., “BORDEUX”].

6) Promotions, coupons & gift cards

• Unless stated otherwise, only one coupon/promo code can be used per order and cannot be applied to gift cards or already discounted items.
• Coupons carry no cash value, are non-transferable and may be withdrawn at any time.
• If an order discounted by a coupon is partially returned, any refund may be reduced proportionally to reflect the discount used.

7) Cancellations, refunds & chargebacks

• You may cancel before dispatch by emailing info@bordeux.co.uk. After dispatch, please follow our Return & Refund Policy.
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned goods (see Return Policy for full conditions).
• If you believe a transaction was unauthorised, contact us first — initiating a chargeback without engaging us may delay resolution.
• We may contest unwarranted chargebacks and restrict future orders where abuse is detected.

8) Payment failures & holds

• If a payment fails or is reversed, we may place the order on hold or cancel it; you’ll be asked to update your payment method.
• For back-orders or pre-orders (if available), we may retain an authorisation and capture the funds once stock is ready. If we cannot fulfil within a reasonable time, we will cancel and release the authorisation.

9) Age & capacity

You must be 18+ and legally capable of entering into a binding contract to purchase on our Website. Orders placed by minors may be cancelled.

10) Data protection

We process billing information in line with our
Privacy Policy. We keep only minimal payment metadata
(e.g., transaction ID, last 4 digits, expiry month/year) and never store full card numbers or CVV.

11) Changes to this Payments Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. The “Last updated” date above shows the most recent revision.
